RETAINING WALLS, BRICK WALLS & STEPS

Retaining walls are a structure that usually hold soil behind it. There are different types of material that can be used when making retaining walls, such as brick walls, sandstone walls, concrete block walls, gabion basket walls and wooden sleeper walls.

Retaining walls are used for supporting soil sidewards, so that it can be retained at different levels on both sides of the wall.

Gabion wall is a type of retaining wall consisting of mesh boxes tied together with wire, which are then filled with roughly cut stone or other materials. These wire boxes are often built to reduce erosive forces.
